Thrive West Central’s ‘Homes for the Future’ program ends 2024 with two new residential construction projects in Terre Haute | News

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Thrive West Central is finishing up a busy 2024 with two residential development projects that will be under construction through the winter.

Southard Acres West is a project taking place in the north side of Terre Haute on Haythorne Avenue. The project will include 17 singe family homes, ranging from 1,250 to 1,400 square feet. The homes will be fully electric, and equipped with new energy-efficient appliances. Starting costs will be approximately $225,000. The project is being contracted through Southard Homes LLC.

Thrive West Central has also broken ground on the Athletic Village of Gerstmeyer High, which will include ten rental homes at the site of the Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club. These homes will be roughly 1200 sq. feet with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. This project is being contracted through S&M Capital Group LLC. The project will also protect historical elements of the old Gerstmeyer High School building.

Both of these projects should be finished within the next year.

Thrive West Central tells News Ten that they will continue to focus on aggressive residential expansion in 2025. Interested home buyers or builders are encouraged to visit the Thrive West Central website for more information on programs that help qualified buyers get connected with builders, and down payment assistance.
